Shaping Future – NGOs in the Arts Join
In 2020, people around the world have been connecting with each other online. This year, in hope to keep strengthening the ties and dialogue between theatre partners, we invite distinguished guests from various NGOs in the arts field to talk about how organizations re-connect theatre makers in the pandemic and how they stay relevant in this fast-evolving world.
This roundtable session moderated by Wan-Jung Wei (OISTAT Executive Director) will invite each speaker to introduce their organization, share challenges faced during the pandemic and how their organization responded to the changes. The session will include a 20-minutes panel discussion for the invited NGOs to interact with each other. This session will have simultaneous interpretation in Spanish, Arabic and Mandarin.
If you are interested in finding out more about how NGOs work, or would like learn how reach out to one another even if physical activities are turned into virtual events, be sure to join us in the session. The panel aims to provide some tips and direction for people who are coping with the transition and navigating the complexities of our environment.

Roundtable / Presentation
Nine European university institutions, research centres and dual education programs - from Belgium, Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom – are collaborating to increase awareness and understanding of the history of technical theatre in Europe: its practices and technologies. During six workshop meetings, they develop a timeline and a Canon of technical theatre. The methodology used and the developed tools are being documented as the project develops. You have the opportunity to find out the content of the workshop in Prague and discuss the project.
More information, please visit the Canon Project website.
This session we invite OISTAT members to share their precious moments in OISTAT, unforgettable stories and/or to introduce their current projects to the global theatre community with 20 slides within 400 seconds in Pecha Kucha style.
This is a great opportunity to get in touch with people with different skillsets and cultures. You might also find people who share similar memories or passion with you. Everyone has their own story with OISTAT. We welcome our dear colleagues and new friends to get to know OISTAT more. Potential collaboration with a partner from other parts of the world might be easier than you think.
2020 was full of challenges, but it also brought us opportunities. The global pandemic has reshaped the way we interact with the world. It sped up the digital transformation of OISTAT.
Over the year, thanks to all the international theatre professionals for being with us in OISTAT events and meetings. In 2020, more than 100 hours of OISTAT virtual events took place. This session we invite everyone to revisit the events highlight with us.
